As I said, I was eager to begin. So of course I did the early bird prompt from napowrimo.net! We were asked to draw inspiration from a work of art and its description in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.

April is almost upon us, and as with any new adventure, I am chomping at the bit. I know by a few days into NaPoWriMo, I will feel the burden of the challenge to write a poem every day, but for now I am in that blissful state of anticipation you have at the start of a new semester (you know, before you are handed the syllabi laden with enough expectations of work to be completed to cause you to crumple in a ball of tears on the floor). Before tomorrow's early bird prompt given by napowrimo.net, I thought I'd post some haikus I wrote in January and February. Shout out to the Brandows who are doing a year long study in roses for inspiring my use of the form.
